ZP THEART, the South African vocalist best known as founding frontman of speed metal legends DRAGONFORCE and subsequent lead singer of SKID ROW, has released a new solo single titled "Electric Beings." The track was created in collaboration with Swiss producer Syndrone and is now available across all major streaming platforms.
"Electric Beings" marks another forward step in Theart's solo career following his departure from SKID ROW in February 2022. The single bridges his background in high-velocity power metal with a more modern, cinematic sonic aesthetic — a cyber-influenced sound that differs meaningfully from the frenetic guitar heroics that defined his DRAGONFORCE years.
"Step by step, we are building something truly special for 2026," Theart said of the collaboration. "Working with Syndrone has opened a door to a sound I've wanted to explore for a long time."
This release follows his debut solo album "Dark To Light" and a 20th-anniversary reimagining of DRAGONFORCE's signature song. Theart has also demonstrated his versatility by lending his vocal talents to Riot Games' virtual metal band project and collaborating with guitarist Stevie T.
Theart co-founded DRAGONFORCE in London in the late 1990s and served as the band's signature voice through their breakthrough years, including the iconic "Through the Fire and Flames" — one of the most recognized speed metal tracks of all time. His post-DRAGONFORCE career has been marked by a willingness to explore beyond the confines of a single genre, and "Electric Beings" continues that evolution with evident confidence and ambition.
