Swedish progressive metal veterans EVERGREY have dropped a music video for "Leaving The Emptiness," the third single from their fifteenth studio album "Architects Of A New Weave," due June 5 via Napalm Records.
The release comes amid a significant lineup shift: Henrik Danhage, who spent 21 years as the band's guitarist, has stepped away, and Stephen Platt — known for his work with melodic death metal act SCAR SYMMETRY — steps in. The album was co-produced by frontman Tom S. Englund and keyboardist Vikram Shankar, with mixing by Adam "Nolly" Getgood (PERIPHERY, ANIMALS AS LEADERS).
Englund on the single: "It's a high-energy firecracker that makes you want to jump... Underneath the surge is something rawer — a song about the moment you stop running from what hurts and finally turn to face it."
"Architects Of A New Weave" spans twelve tracks plus a bonus disc of demos and live recordings. The album features DARK TRANQUILLITY frontman Mikael Stanne on "A Burning Flame," and EVERGREY will support IRON MAIDEN on the "Run For Your Lives" world tour.
Platt: "I've been a fan of the band for a long time — I'm so happy to become the new guitarist of EVERGREY."
