LEX LEGION, Featuring Classic KING DIAMOND Members, Announces First-Ever Live Show In Gothenburg

The metal world has been buzzing since LEX LEGION emerged — the new band uniting four-fifths of KING DIAMOND's iconic late-1980s lineup in a brand new creative venture. Now, they've taken the next step: the group has announced their first-ever live concert, set for November 28 at Filmstudion in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The announcement arrives alongside the release of the band's second single, "Gypsy Tears", with an official music video directed by Patric Ullaeus of the acclaimed rEvolver Film Company — the same director who has worked with DIMMU BORGIR, IN FLAMES, and LACUNA COIL, among others.

LEX LEGION's lineup is formidable on paper and electric in practice: Andy La Rocque (guitar), Mikkey Dee (drums), Pete Blakk (guitar), and Hal Patino (bass) — all veterans of KING DIAMOND's classic era — joined by vocalist Nils K. Rue of Norwegian progressive metallers PAGAN'S MIND. Between them, these musicians carry decades of experience with KING DIAMOND, MOTÖRHEAD, and SCORPIONS, among others.

Dee describes "Gypsy Tears" as "a real driving banger", while La Rocque explains that the project's origins trace all the way back to 2008, when he and Blakk first discussed a potential collaboration. Shelved due to busy schedules, the idea was revived during the pandemic, gradually pulling in Dee, then Patino, and eventually taking the fully formed shape that LEX LEGION represents today.

Blakk puts it plainly: "'Gypsy Tears' is the essence of me, Mikkey, Andy and Hal. With me and Andy trading off solos and the power of Mikkey and Hal's rhythm section all supporting the powerful vocals of Nils, the song really brings a new dimension to metal in 2026."

The Gothenburg concert will be a long-anticipated first chance for fans to see this lineup live — a meeting of legends, finally realized on stage.
