NOMADIC NARWHAL have released their new single "Call of the Current" via Seaborne Records. The track marks a deliberate shift for the cinematic metal project — away from the grand oceanic mythology of their earlier work and toward something more intimate and unguarded. Blending progressive and symphonic metal with raw emotional directness, "Call of the Current" is the band's most exposed recording to date.
Founder Jesse Beisner wrote and self-produced the track, describing the process plainly: "I wrote how I wanted to feel. Sometimes you just need to write to get through some things." The title came from fans, and the hand-painted artwork reflects the project's longstanding DIY ethos.
"Call of the Current" follows breakout singles "Arrival" and "Monolith" (2022) and the critically acclaimed four-part release Fathoms, which drew attention from Loudwire and Decibel and helped establish NOMADIC NARWHAL as a distinct voice in modern heavy music.
