A fairly strong effort. ANCIENT have been around for a long time, but only now have they managed to produce something truly serious. Harder, angrier modern-style black metal frequently intertwines with atmospheric passages. There's no trace of posturing in the music anymore. Solid guitar work, excellent vocals, unobtrusive keyboards in the background. And it's all recorded at the highest level. Eight tracks of metal and two dark ambient bonuses. A good album, no question about it.
