These Romanians are truly serious guys. Their arrangements are at a very high level, and their instrumental mastery inspires admiration. They also tour across Europe (which is unsurprising — it's not the CIS, after all). The term gothic black metal (as the band describes itself) doesn't do justice here, since the music incorporates many elements from a wide variety of styles. Let's put it this way — imagine if DIMMU BORGIR decided to play in the vein of DEATH (late period) while retaining their atmospheric quality. Compliments are superfluous, as AVATAR is already well on its way to European recognition (in their style, naturally). The bonus video clip, however, wasn't particularly impressive — it too obviously resembles MOURNING PALACE by DIMMU BORGIR.
