The core of BLACK LABEL SOCIETY is Zakk Wylde, known for his role as guitarist in Ozzy Osbourne's solo project. Apparently, Zakk borrowed his singing manner from the master — the resemblance is striking. The music presented on this album doesn't even reach heavy metal in terms of heaviness. The musician decided to relax a bit, take a break from metal, and revisit good old rock in its various forms: southern, hard, stoner. The mellow melodies are certainly easy on the ears, but the music doesn't exactly rush to stand out. Then again, that's not what "Hangover Music" was made for — who wants to strain themselves when they're hungover?
