Reviewing the creations of this... um (you can hardly call it a band!!!) is quite difficult. Varg has both fervent admirers and equally fervent detractors. Lately, various BURZUM reissues have been appearing — unreleased tracks, bootlegs, and so on. In this case, we're dealing with unreleased material that was either originally intended for official releases (but later excluded) or never released at all. What can be said: The sound is, naturally, as underground as it gets. The atmosphere is bleaker than hell itself (and even that's debatable). The conceptual depth of each individual piece rivals "War and Peace." And so on and so forth. The undeniable highlight of the entire compilation is the chorus of sworn enemies — members of MAYHEM and Varg Vikernes — drunk out of their minds, performing an a cappella rendition of a Cliff Richard rock'n'roll hit. (This masterpiece was originally included in the first version of MAYHEM's "Deathcrush"). TOTAL TRUE!!!!!!!!
