ECLIPSE

A Swedish foursome delivers their second album. The quartet plays melodic hard rock. Their music bears traces of both BON JOVI and DEEP PURPLE (especially the keyboard passages a la Jon Lord). On the first, already mentioned track "Always Standing," the band's guitarist plays a brief fragment of "Flight of the Bumblebee," though he's still a long way from our Zinchuk. Despite the melodic nature of the material, two songs feature heavier guitars ("Always Standing," "Nothing Between Us"). But of course, the Swedes couldn't resist treating us to the ballads "I'll Ask For You" and the more emotional "Light Of Day"! And at the end of the playlist, you'll find the acoustic composition "Better World." All the songs are wonderfully memorable, largely thanks to their choruses. Recommended for all rock fans and beyond! This is the kind of album that stays within arm's reach rather than being banished to a dark drawer!
