Frogs croak musically... Uncle Joe smokes a cigar on the porch while vicious alligators roam the local waters, terrorizing their inhabitants. In a way, this picture — taken from the intro to Cajun Hell — characterizes the album as a whole. The same heavy voice climbs atop heaps of thrash sonic quakes. One could say that on "Fabulous Disaster," EXODUS matured, trading primal savagery for a more refined approach. The compositions once again vary in tempo and length — from the furious symphony of tin cans at the start of Fabulous Disaster and the glam-tinged nods in Low Rider to the eight-minute, drawn-out Like Father Like Son. After listening to the disc, some may start whining: "Too dragged out!!!" And yet "Fabulous Disaster" is a genre standard. Daily bread...
