Before us is a solo album by Evgeny Mishchenko, known for his participation in the band Epidemia as well as last year's release from the project Miriada. In terms of melodic accessibility, the material presented here is quite on par with the album Illusion Of Love. Everything sounds airy, virtuosic, and pleasant. However, a lingering sense of artificiality never quite goes away, and from time to time the melodies remind you of something. For instance, part of one of the compositions bears a striking resemblance to a creation by a certain well-known trio whose name coincides with a popular potency pill. So, on the minus side, we have a certain artificiality of the material plus minor suspicions that it treads well-worn ground. What do we have on the plus side? On the plus side, there is Evgeny's virtuosic performance, memorable and pleasant melodies. All of this combined evokes exclusively positive emotions while listening. And if you add to that the solid mastering by Evgeny Vinogradov (Catharsis, BUTTERFLY TEMPLE) and the quality recording, the final verdict is "a very worthy effort."
