Hats off to the Poles! They deliver such excellent black metal that words simply fail! Superb intro and outro, brimming with graveyard atmosphere. And between them lie six compositions of top-notch black metal for every taste and tempo. From the measured pace of The Mirror Of Our Curse to the black'n'roll swagger of Mental Spirit & Flesh. The vocals are top-tier as well -- remarkably articulate, as much as is possible within this branch of extreme music. The guitarists and drummer also deliver, while the keyboards provide an unobtrusive backdrop, lending a sense of completeness to every composition. The recording is excellent -- it's Selani after all, a proper label! And having spent considerable time in the studio, LUNA AD NOCTUM received a bonus: a video they shot for The Last Coldest Sunset, included on the disc. Verdict: a definite must-have!
