MANDRAKE is a gothic metal band exploitating Beauty&Beast formula, "Calm the Seas" is thier second opus. I recommend it everyone into this style. One might dislike electronics but I think it makes music even more interesting. Everything is quite beautiful, autumn mood not so gloomy but not frivolus at all. The album is well paced, tempered melodies and rhythm. Powerful growling and beautiful female vocals. Memorable tunes. Thick guitars and floating keyboards. Sometimes it reminded me CREMATORY, but that's Okay. Mandrake comes from Germany as well. Album is not dull, good various songs. I would point out Shine and Essential Trifles tracks yet all songs are definitely good. A cheer pleasure all in all.
