March 2007. It had been almost four years since the last studio addition to the TYPE O NEGATIVE camp. Though the interval is quite typical for this New York outfit. During that time they released a best-of and a DVD, and then came March 13th -- the release day for the Americans' seventh album, "Dead Again."

As usual, the disc runs over 70 minutes. The cover deserves special mention: it features a close-up of none other than Rasputin! However, the band's signature album cover color hasn't gone anywhere -- Grigori Yefimovich appears in green tones.

At the same time, the traditional American rock motifs haven't gone anywhere either. In short, what can you say -- the band still plays in its own inimitable genre. The signature sound is recognizable within a few notes, as is the vocals, which shift from a richly resonant baritone to suddenly soaring upper registers, and with such expressiveness at that. Honestly, it's nearly impossible to describe this music -- you just have to listen...
