The Volgograd-based band WAR SWALLOWED has delivered a pleasing debut full-length. The sound and the music itself somewhat reminded me of early SEPTIC FLESH, though there is considerably more brutality here. But there is no shortage of arrangements either. One could attempt to call all of this atmospheric death metal. Violins even make an appearance in places. It is all played with great technical skill (the band is categorized as techno death). Each composition contains a wealth of themes that are unlike one another. Solid work, no question about it.
