The Metal Hall of Fame held its 2026 induction ceremony on January 21 on Hollywood's legendary Sunset Strip, honoring a class of inductees that reads like a who's who of 1980s metal royalty. Warren DeMartini of RATT, Chris Holmes (ex-W.A.S.P.), Tracii Guns of L.A. GUNS, and Rikki Rockett of POISON were all inducted alongside Riki Rachtman, the iconic host of MTV's "Headbangers Ball".

The ceremony, hosted by veteran rock journalist Eddie Trunk and Cathy Rankin, celebrated the enduring impact of the Sunset Strip metal scene on the broader genre. Chris Holmes, whose legendary poolside interview in the documentary "The Decline of Western Civilization Part II" remains one of metal's most memorable moments, was inducted by Carlos Cavazo of QUIET RIOT fame.

Warren DeMartini's induction recognized his virtuosic guitar work that helped make RATT one of the defining bands of the 1980s metal explosion. His fluid, melodic lead style influenced countless guitarists and remains a benchmark for the genre. Tracii Guns, the founding guitarist of both L.A. GUNS and the original GUNS N' ROSES lineup, was honored for his raw, street-level approach to hard rock and metal.

Rikki Rockett's induction acknowledged his role as the driving force behind POISON's massive arena success, while Riki Rachtman's honor celebrated his pivotal role in bringing metal to mainstream television audiences through "Headbangers Ball" during the genre's commercial peak.

The evening concluded with an All-Star Jam featuring the inductees and special guests, providing a fitting tribute to an era that continues to shape and inspire heavy metal culture worldwide.
