THE MATERIA have unveiled the official music video for "1984", the lead single from their upcoming fifth studio album. The Polish prog metal/djent outfit, formed in 2007, are gearing up for their most ambitious release yet — a new record scheduled for August 28, 2026, at the 14th edition of Materiafest.

"1984" arrived digitally on May 4, and the video makes its world premiere today. Shot at Yew Tree Studio, the clip was created with collaborators including Oliwia "Dzoli" Piwko, Oliver "Loki" Jakubowicz, and Julia Karwasz, translating Orwell's dystopian vision into striking visual terms.

The Piesiak brothers on the concept: "The lyrics were inspired by George Orwell's novel '1984'. This timeless work carries a profound message about our existence — or perhaps stagnation — within society. The song is a call to remain relentless in the fight against an invisible enemy that affects every human being in the world."

The album was self-recorded by the band; mixing and mastering were handled by Konrad Janiszewski, known for his work with Heresy Denied and Sour Blood.

Over four albums and nearly two decades, THE MATERIA have built a reputation for technically precise, emotionally uncompromising music that refuses to be confined to a single genre. Their intense live presence has earned them appearances at Wacken Open Air, Brutal Assault, and Euroblast.
