Throughout their entire long creative journey (the band has been around since 1992), these Germans have demonstrated a remarkable ability to combine the seemingly incompatible — an old, almost thrash-like musical foundation with new, I'd even say "modern" production techniques. On their new (seventh) release, the guys haven't betrayed themselves, and the listener is treated to a potent blend of energetic, "unkempt," thrash-tinged death metal wrapped in a frame of clean and juicy guitar crunch. No intellectual excesses here — just the triumph of fast tempos, uncompromising and precise rhythm section work, raspy old-school growling, and total thrash-death mayhem and fun. An excellent release whose flaws could only be found by a nitpicking snob, which I hope neither you nor I, dear readers, happen to be.
