Of all five musicians, the only one I was familiar with is Tjodlav, who once played drums in DIMMU BORGIR. The release is top-notch: excellent recording quality, a 20-page booklet with professional artwork. The musical content doesn't disappoint either. This is thrash at the crossroads of melodic death metal. The proportions of these two styles shift from song to song, while Tjodlav still hammers out those black metal blast beats :) I was particularly impressed by the lead guitar work, which adorns every track on this forty-five-minute record. Clean vocals transition into characteristic thrash growling, occasionally veering into full-on death growls. The relatively short runtime of the full-length doesn't indicate a shortage of ideas, but rather speaks to the musicians' disciplined approach to their craft. Every composition is a fully realized, high-quality piece. There are no weak songs on this album.
