ANTHRAX will be shooting a video for the track "What Doesn't Die" in early November with director Brian Posehn. "I won't give away any details because if I do some other band will steal our idea," guitarist Scott Ian writes in the latest installment of his online diary. "It will be intense."

ANATHEMA - song posted online

A brand new ANATHEMA track, titled "Are You There?"' , has been posted online MP3 format.
"Are You There?" comes off the group's forthcoming seventh studio album, "A Natural Disaster", due on October 20 through Music For Nations Records.
The follow-up to 2001's "A Fine Day to Exit" was recorded and mixed at Parkgate Studios near Hastings, U.K. (except for two songs, which were mixed in Nottingham at Electric Mayhem) and was produced by the and engineered by Dan Turner. Cover artwork was handled by artist extraordinaire Travis Smith.

PANZER X - solo project of VADER's Peter

PANZER X, the solo project of VADER vocalist/guitarist Peter, are tentatively scheduled to enter Studio X in Olsztyn, Poland in November/December to record a three-song demo. Although the band's lineup has yet to be solidified, the vocal duties will likely be handled by Grzegorz Kupczyk (CETI, TURBO). No further information is available at this time.

DEIVOS - "Hostile Blood" out next week.

The band DEIVOS include on their web site (www.deivos.metal.pl) pictures from their last show with CICATRIX, BLASPHEMY RITES, PROFUNDIS, REQUIEM and NECROSADIST in Dublin (Poland). Problems in Belarus stop for this moment their show with PUNGENT STENCH in this country. Their first official album "Hostile Blood" will be out on next week.

VADER - just issued a new mini-CD

VADER have just issued a new mini-CD, titled "Blood", through Metal Blade Records. The seven-song effort contains two new songs, "We Wait" and "Shape-shifting", which were recorded over a one-week period beginning on July 10 at Red Studio with engineer Piotr Lukaszewski ("Reign Forever World", "Revelations").

KING DIAMOND - five song preview of the forthcoming CD online

A five song preview of the forthcoming KING DIAMOND CD, "The Puppet Master", has been posted online' .

FINNTROLL - demo "preview" of the new material

FINNTROLL will enter Sundicoop Studio in Savonlinna, Finland in November to begin recording their new album, tentatively due in the spring.
"At this point we have 30 minutes of material," said keyboardist Trollhorn. The music is the best we've ever made, as usual. Combining the melodies of 'Jaktens Tid', the rawness and sheer maliciousness from 'Midnattens' and the epicness of 'Visor om Slutet', it should be a killer. Lyrics will be in Swedish, as usual, and no English will be used."

FOREFATHER - Metal tributes to their Anglo-Saxon ancestors

Karmageddon Media proudly announce the worldwide signing of England's FOREFATHER.
Their new, and meanwhile 4th, album titled "Ours Is The Kingdom" is currently being recorded.
The FOREFATHER project was born in September 1997 in Surrey, England by founding members and brothers Athelstan (guitar, bass & keyboard) and Wulfstan (guitar, bass & vocals). The aim was to create powerful and epic Metal tributes to their to their Anglo-Saxon ancestors, straight from the heart and of the highest quality. During the years Forefather released 3 albums on their own strength through their own recordlabel Angelisc Enterprises.
"Ours Is The Kingdom" is scheduled for an early 2004 release on Karmageddon Media.

INSOMNIUM - are completing work on their album

Finnish metallers INSOMNIUM are completing work on their sophomore album, tentatively due in early 2004 through Candlelight Records. "The mixing will be finished during this week and the mastering will take place somewhere in the next month," the band write on their web site. "We will update these pages soon and add studio diary and some pictures from the session, but first we have to take few week break and just relax. We really need to get our minds away from this long and stressing effort and concentrate for a while to our studies and day jobs. After that we have more energy and strength to keep on going. So all you need is little patience."

SOULFLY - Cavalera parted ways with the rest of band

SOULFLY mainman Max Cavalera has officially parted ways with the rest of his band — bassist Marcello D. Rapp, drummer Roy Mayorga, and guitarist Mike Doling. According to informed sources, the mass exodus was prompted by the firing of Rapp by Max and SOULFLY manager Gloria Cavalera (Max's wife), which in turn led Mayorga and Doling to quit in protest.
Cavalera has assembled a new line-up for a selection of upcoming Soulfly shows over in America. He will be joined by guitarist Marc Rizzo (ex-ILL NINO), drummer Joe Nunez (who played on the group's "Primitive" release and subsequent world tour), and bassist Bobby Burns (ex-PRIMER 55 guitarist). It is not yet known if this is the line-up that will push ahead with work on the band's fourth album, tentatively due next summer through Roadrunner Records.

MAYHEM - re-signed with Season Of Mist Records

Norwegian black metallers MAYHEM have re-signed with Season Of Mist Records for the release of their new album, "Chimera". The CD will be recorded at a mobile studio in the mountains of Norway during November/December and is scheduled for release during March 2004.
According to an official press release from the label, the forthcoming CD will not be as "daring" as 2000's "Grand Declaration of War" but will instead see the group going back to the band's "darker times."
Among the tracks set to appear on the upcoming CD are the following:

BLOOD RED THRONE - mini-tour in Italy

BLOOD RED THRONE's upcoming mini-tour in Italy with GORGOROTH was cancelled last minute. No other than the usual promoter/venue problems were given. The mini-tour will be postponed to early 2004 and a Scandinavian tour is planned for early 2004 as well. Meanwhile the band has started working on their 3rd album, bearing the working-title "Altered Genesis". The band is now discussing several recording possibilities, one option being Nergal from BEHEMOTH as sound engineer/co-producer on the new album.

IMPIOUS - writing new material

IMPIOUS is very busy writing new material for their upcoming 4th album. About seven songs are written so far and in October the pre-production will kick off in Digizone Studio, owned by guitarist Valle Adzic. As for recording the real album Studio Mega is booked for February/March 2004. Some titles on the new album are Suicide Park, Beneath The Underworld, Death_Wish_Scar and Bloodspill Revelation. The band actually has a title for the album but will hold on to it just a little longer.

TIAMAT - new video

Sweden's TIAMAT have finished filming the promotional video for their new single "Cain" with Revolver Film Company's (www.revolver.se) award-winning director Patric Ullaeus (DIMMU BORGIR, WITHIN TEMPTATION, PASSENGER).
"Cain", due on September 29 through Century Media Records, will contain a radio edit of the album opener, the straight, up-tempo rocker "Love In Chains", and an exclusive cover version of the old W.A.S.P. classic "Sleeping (In The Fire)" — all packaged in a nice digipak with cover artwork by mainman Johan Edlund himself. "Cain" comes off TIAMAT's eighth studio album, "Prey", due on October 27 through Century Media.
The self-produced CD, which is being described as one of Edlund's most personal recorded statements to date, was mixed and mastered at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, Finland. Although it is not a concept album, there is a strong unifying theme running through each of the 13 tracks.

Swedish melodic metallers HAMMERFALL have confirmed the track listing for their upcoming live CD/DVD, "One Crimson Night", due on October 20 through Nuclear Blast.
