Brazilian metal institution ANGRA have released a music video for a freshly re-recorded version of "Pra Frente Brasil," reworked by the band's current lineup.
"Pra Frente Brasil" is not a new composition: originally written by Miguel Gustavo as an anthem for Brazil's victorious 1970 FIFA World Cup campaign, the song was first transformed into heavy metal by ANGRA back in 2002. This 2026 rendition revisits that cultural touchstone through the lens of the group's present-day membership.
The new version features vocalist Alirio Netto, who officially replaced longtime singer Fabio Lione in November 2025, alongside founding guitarist Rafael Bittencourt, guitarist Marcelo Barbosa, bassist Felipe Andreoli and drummer Bruno Valverde. The recording was mixed by Dennis Ward and edited by Maycon Avelino, with press photography by Marcos Hermes.
By returning to "Pra Frente Brasil," ANGRA reaffirm a connection to a song woven deep into Brazilian identity while showcasing how their sound has evolved across more than three decades. The re-recording also serves to formally introduce Netto's voice on a beloved piece of the band's catalog.
The release follows a landmark 2026 for the group, which staged a major reunion at the Bangers Open Air festival uniting their celebrated "Rebirth"-era lineup with the current band — a rare on-stage meeting of ANGRA's past and present.
Founded in Sao Paulo in 1991, ANGRA remain one of South America's most influential power and progressive metal exports, with classic albums "Angels Cry," "Holy Land" and "Rebirth" continuing to inspire bands worldwide.
