Italian power metal outfit FROZEN CROWN have unveiled "The One," the first single from their forthcoming sixth studio album, "The Legend Of The Six Kings," due October 2 via Napalm Records.
The Milan-based sextet describe the new track as a turning point. "This single marks a new beginning for FROZEN CROWN, showing the wicked, dark side of the band," the group said. Where earlier records leaned on bright, hook-driven speed metal, "The One" pushes toward a heavier, more menacing register — a shift mirrored across the ten-track album.
Lyrically, "The Legend Of The Six Kings" draws on J.R.R. TOLKIEN's "The Lord of the Rings" and the sword-and-sorcery writing of Robert E. Howard, weaving a darker fantasy narrative than the band has attempted before. "We are distilling the key elements of our sound and style into increasingly concise and straightforward songs," FROZEN CROWN explained of the album's tighter approach.
The accompanying music video was directed by Raoul Noise, with prop design by Daria Gislon, while the album's cover art was created by Sheila Franco.
FROZEN CROWN currently feature Giada "Jade" Etro (lead vocals), founder Federico Mondelli (guitar and vocals), Niso Tomasini (drums), Francesco Zof (bass), and the three-guitar attack of Alessia Lanzone, Aleksandra Stamenkovic and Mondelli himself.
The band have a heavy touring schedule lined up around the release. They will cross North America with KAMELOT and VISIONS OF ATLANTIS through August and September 2026, before a European run alongside BEAST IN BLACK and SONATA ARCTICA in October and November.
Since their 2018 debut "The Fallen Kingdom," FROZEN CROWN have become one of the most prolific names in modern European power metal, releasing five albums in seven years. "The Legend Of The Six Kings" arrives October 2 on Napalm Records.
