I PREVAIL are gearing up to release a new single titled "Paradise," frontman Eric Vanlerberghe has revealed, teasing fresh material that arrives hot on the heels of the band's most recent album.
Speaking to Wall Of Sound, Vanlerberghe offered a characteristically cryptic preview of the track. "It's got some singing. It's got some screaming. It's got some special," he said, adding that there's "something cool we did with it" without giving away specifics. The song did not make the cut for the band's latest full-length, "Violent Nature," which was released in September 2025 — simply because it was written after the album was finished.
The singer credited bassist Jon Eberhard, who serves as the band's producer, with enabling a looser, more spontaneous creative process. That setup, Vanlerberghe explained, allowed the group to demo ideas on the road while touring Europe rather than waiting for dedicated studio time — a workflow that gave "Paradise" room to come together organically.
The new music comes during a period of transition for the Michigan band. Co-vocalist Brian Burkheiser stepped away in May 2025 after a decade with the group, citing Eagle's syndrome, a condition that causes throat and neck pain. Vanlerberghe has since taken on primary vocal duties, handling both the clean singing and the harsh screams that define I PREVAIL's dynamic, genre-blurring sound.
Reflecting on the response to "Violent Nature," Vanlerberghe said fans had embraced the album's heavier direction while still connecting with the melodic hooks the band is known for — a balance the group intends to keep pushing on new material. I PREVAIL have built a substantial following over the past decade, earning two Grammy nominations and topping Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with their 2020 single "Hurricane."
No release date for "Paradise" has been announced, but Vanlerberghe's comments suggest the single is on the way sooner rather than later, offering the first taste of I PREVAIL's next chapter.
