The black gothic throne that became synonymous with OZZY OSBOURNE's final performance will go on public display at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, in the late metal icon's home city, to mark the first anniversary of both his farewell concert and his death.

The throne will be added on Wednesday, July 1 to the free exhibition "Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero," which celebrates the life, music and cultural impact of the BLACK SABBATH frontman. Originally built for OSBOURNE's Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction in 2024, the elaborate seat — adorned with bat-wing motifs that nod to the singer's legend — was last seen during his solo set and SABBATH's final concert at the "Back To The Beginning" event on July 5, 2025 at Villa Park.

"As we approach the one-year anniversary of 'Back To The Beginning,' it feels fitting that OZZY's throne, which has now become synonymous with his final performance, would be placed in the museum, where it can be seen by the fans who loved him," said Sharon Osbourne.

OSBOURNE died on July 22, 2025 at the age of 76. His death certificate cited a heart attack, with coronary artery disease and Parkinson's disease listed as contributing factors. The exhibition, curated by Central BID Birmingham and Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery in collaboration with the Osbourne family, has proven a phenomenon: it has welcomed more than 640,000 visitors since opening in June 2025 and has been extended twice, now running until September 27, 2026.

Sara Wajid and Zak Mensah, co-chief executives at Birmingham Museums Trust, called the throne "an extraordinary object" that is "instantly recognizable to fans around the world." Sam Watson, chair of Central BID Birmingham, said organizers were "determined to bring this iconic throne back to OZZY's home city first, a place he loved so much."

The "Back To The Beginning" charity concert reunited the original BLACK SABBATH lineup — OSBOURNE, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward — for the first time in 20 years, performing "War Pigs," "Iron Man," "N.I.B." and "Paranoid." Seated on the very throne now headed for the museum, an emotional OSBOURNE told the crowd: "You have no idea how I feel. Thank you from the bottom of my heart." It would be the last time the world saw him on stage.
