ACCEPT have shared a new recording of their classic anthem "Balls To The Wall," featuring JUDAS PRIEST's Rob Halford on lead vocals, SCORPIONS guitarist Matthias Jabs on lead guitar, and former PANTERA bassist Rex Brown, as part of the band's upcoming 50th-anniversary retrospective album.
The reimagined track appears on "Teutonic Titans 1976–2026," a project marking half a century since ACCEPT's formation, due out September 4, 2026 via Napalm Records. The album reworks 19 songs spanning the band's catalog, each rerecorded with a different lineup of guest musicians drawn from across the hard rock and metal world — more than 50 guest performers in total — with tracks arranged chronologically to trace the band's evolution from 1980 through 1989. On this particular recording, ACCEPT guitarist Wolf Hoffmann played all rhythm guitar parts, while drummer Jason Bowld of BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE rounded out the lineup.
Hoffmann said the choice of vocalist for "Balls To The Wall" was never really in question. "Rob is the Metal God. I don't need to say any more," he said, explaining that Halford was "the best fit imaginable" for one of ACCEPT's most iconic songs. He described Jabs's involvement as "a huge honor," noting that pairing a JUDAS PRIEST icon with a SCORPIONS legend and a PANTERA veteran on a single ACCEPT track created "a really cool package."
Reflecting on the broader concept behind "Teutonic Titans," Hoffmann framed the collaborative format as the most fitting way to mark the milestone. "There is no better way to celebrate this 50-year anniversary than to have our musical peers, friends, and inspirations come together," he said.
Originally released in 1983, "Balls To The Wall" has long stood as one of ACCEPT's signature songs and a touchstone of German heavy metal, and its reimagining with Halford on vocals brings together two of metal's most recognizable frontman voices — Halford's operatic power and the song's original gallop-driven aggression — on a single recording.
With "Teutonic Titans 1976–2026" still two months from release and songs continuing to roll out featuring different guest combinations, ACCEPT's anniversary project is shaping up as one of the most ambitious all-star tribute records the genre has seen, using half a century of the band's own history as the framework for a genuinely collaborative celebration.
