Colorado deathcore outfit CROWN MAGNETAR has announced its new album, "The Hollowing Of Godflesh," set for release September 25 via Unique Leader Records.

The 10-track record marks the studio debut of new guitarist Rob Maramonte, formerly of FALLUJAH and THE ZENITH PASSAGE, who joins vocalist Dan Tucker and bassist/producer Michael Sahm in refining the band's blend of brutal death metal and technical deathcore. Live drums on the record were handled by Matt Kilner. The album's tracklist runs: "Gun Eater," "Desecrate Infinite," "Domination," "Impaled Genesis," "The Hollowing Of Godflesh," "Godkiller," "Shut Up And Bleed," "Torture Engine," "Sculptures Of Suffering" — featuring Heath Thompson of FLESH CARVING — and "Dead Crown."

Tucker described the album's intent as pushing the band's songwriting into more extreme territory without sacrificing the intensity that has defined its sound. "We pushed every aspect of our songwriting further without losing the intensity and rawness that defines the band," he said. Of "Godkiller" specifically, Tucker offered a blunter summary: "It's basically the equivalent of driving a bulldozer into Hell."

Maramonte, brought in to fill CROWN MAGNETAR's guitar chair after stints in two respected technical death metal and deathcore acts, said the sessions marked a creative breakthrough for him personally. "This is the first time I've felt a gelling of my vision with that of the band," he said, pointing to a chemistry that shaped the record's direction.

CROWN MAGNETAR will support the album on the road extensively. The band first co-headlines a U.S. run with TO THE GRAVE before crossing to Europe for a support slot on ARCHSPIRE's tour, putting the band in front of two of technical extreme metal's most established fanbases in short succession.

With "The Hollowing Of Godflesh," CROWN MAGNETAR positions itself within deathcore's increasingly technical, brutal-death-informed wing, joining a wave of bands blurring the line between the two subgenres. The Unique Leader release, paired with high-profile touring alongside ARCHSPIRE and TO THE GRAVE, gives the band its highest-profile platform to date heading into the album's fall release.
