METALLICA have released professionally filmed footage from their May 13, 2026 M72 world tour stop at Arena Națională in Bucharest, Romania. The two clips capture live performances of "Holier Than Thou" — the charging opener from the band's landmark 1991 Black Album — and "Lux Aeterna," one of the standout tracks from the 2023 "72 Seasons" record.
The Bucharest concert was supported by French metal titans GOJIRA and American metalcore heavyweights KNOCKED LOOSE, making for a lineup that spanned three generations of heavy music at its most uncompromising.
The M72 world tour, which launched in Amsterdam in April 2023, has now reached approximately four million fans across the globe. In three years on the road, METALLICA have consistently raised the stakes on what a large-scale metal tour can deliver — the "Snake Pit" in-the-round stage design, the no-repeat setlists on back-to-back nights, and the persistent charitable dimension through the band's All Within My Hands foundation all contribute to a touring operation that remains without peer.
All Within My Hands has raised over $20 million since 2017, with portions of ticket sales from each show directed toward local community organizations. For the upcoming European leg, METALLICA have partnered with UK blood services — the Welsh Blood Service, NHS Blood And Transplant, and the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service — on a blood donation awareness campaign. A similar initiative at a Philadelphia concert previously resulted in 152 units of blood donated by fans.
The Bucharest pro-shot videos are available now on METALLICA's official YouTube channel. The M72 tour continues through the summer with further European stadium dates.
