Swedish progressive metal veterans EVERGREY release their fifteenth studio album "Architects Of A New Weave" tomorrow, June 5, via Napalm Records — and if the material is any indication, the band's creative force remains undimmed after four decades of existence.
Produced by Tom S. Englund himself alongside keyboardist Vikram Shankar, and mixed by Adam "Nolly" Getgood (known for his work with PERIPHERY), the album represents a natural continuation of EVERGREY's melodic, emotionally rich progressive metal sound while pushing into more expansive sonic territory. A bonus edition features additional tracks "Heights," "One Heart," and demo and instrumental versions of select songs.
The record boasts a notable guest appearance from Mikael Stanne of DARK TRANQUILLITY on the track "A Burning Flame" — a pairing of two of Swedish melodic metal's most respected vocalists that should delight fans of both bands.
Englund, speaking about the album's themes, was characteristically candid about the world that shaped its lyrics: "The world is in turmoil. It's hard to grasp and it's hard to predict what's gonna happen next." Yet despite this sombre framing, he insisted that "Architects Of A New Weave" is "probably one of the most positive albums we have done. It's about self-worth, resurrection, and knowing where you're going."
The album's central message crystallizes around individual identity in the face of external chaos. "Know who you are before somebody else tells you who to be," Englund urged, "because that's happening 24 hours per day." For a band that has built its career on exploring inner turmoil and personal resilience, this message feels both timely and earned.
EVERGREY have long been one of Sweden's most consistent and underrated metal exports, building a loyal international following across nearly three decades without ever compromising their artistic identity. Albums such as "Glorious Collision," "The Storm Within" and "A Heartless Portrait" represent genuine high-water marks for emotionally intelligent progressive metal.
The release also arrives during a season of renewed activity for the band: EVERGREY are confirmed as support for IRON MAIDEN on the "Run For Your Lives" tour in Amsterdam and Paris this summer, and the band performs at Sweden Rock Festival 2026 this very week — further cementing their status in the top tier of European metal.
