German power metal veterans MASTERPLAN have shared the music video for "The Call," the fourth and latest single from their long-awaited comeback album "Metalmorphosis" — the band's first collection of original material since "Novum Initium" in 2013. The album arrives June 26 via Frontiers Music Srl.

The thirteen-year gap between albums is notable even by metal standards, but "Metalmorphosis" carries no sense of a band treading water. Guitarist and founding member Roland Grapow described "The Call" as "the most complex and controversial song on the album, but also one of its most powerful. It feels like a prayer" — a striking claim from a band not ordinarily given to understatement.

The album's title carries obvious symbolic weight. "'Metalmorphosis' really captures what this album means to us: a transformation, but still true to the spirit of MASTERPLAN," the band stated. Coming after more than a decade away, the word "transformation" suggests both growth and a renewal of purpose.

The full 10-track album — "Chase The Light," "Electric Nights," "Shadow Man," "Bound To Fall," "Pain Of Yesterday," "Metalmorphosis," "Through The Storm," "Ghostlight," "The Call," "Rise Again" — was produced by the band themselves and represents a reunion of the classic MASTERPLAN sound: melodic, technically accomplished power metal rooted firmly in the European tradition pioneered by HELLOWEEN and GAMMA RAY.

MASTERPLAN were formed in 2001 by Grapow (former HELLOWEEN guitarist) and vocalist Jørn Lande, rapidly establishing themselves as one of the premier power metal acts of the early 2000s with debut albums that drew immediate comparisons to the genre's finest. While lineup changes eventually led to a long hiatus, the band's reputation for melodic sophistication and strong songwriting endured.

Previous singles from "Metalmorphosis" include "Chase The Light," "Electric Nights," and "Through The Storm" — each offering a slightly different facet of the album's melodic scope. The band has already confirmed European tour dates throughout 2026, including an appearance at Sweden Rock Festival. For power metal fans, "Metalmorphosis" is one of the most eagerly anticipated releases of the year — proof that great heavy metal songwriting doesn't expire after a decade off.
