Louisiana sludge metal legends CROWBAR are returning to the stage for a special free show on Friday, July 17 at Southport Music Hall in Jefferson, Louisiana — and the entire performance will be professionally recorded and filmed for a forthcoming full-length live album.

"CROWBAR will be doing a free — that's right, free admission — live show to record a full-length live record with video and the whole show," founder, vocalist, and guitarist Kirk Windstein announced. "We want all of you there. Click the link in the bio to reserve yourself a spot. It's gonna be a blast."

CROWBAR was formed by Windstein in 1990 from the ashes of THE SLUGS, crafting a unique sonic identity blending crushing doom metal with East Coast hardcore. Influenced by THE MELVINS, BLACK SABBATH, CARNIVORE, TROUBLE, and SAINT VITUS, they have released twelve critically acclaimed studio albums. Their most recent, "Zero And Below" (April 2022, MNRK Heavy), was hailed as the most doom-driven CROWBAR record since the classic "Odd Fellows Rest" (1998). The band currently boasts 1.2 million monthly Spotify listeners.

Earlier this year, Windstein hinted at new studio material in the works, though the band continues to prioritise live activity given surging demand. The current CROWBAR lineup consists of Windstein alongside guitarist Matt Brunson, drummer Tommy Buckley, and returning bassist Pat Bruders (DOWN, ex-GOATWHORE).
