Boston hardcore icons GANG GREEN have announced a four-night East Coast run in July and August alongside Boston punk legends THE FUS, TREE, and WORM, celebrating the 40th anniversary of their landmark record "Another Wasted Night".

Released in 1986, "Another Wasted Night" helped define American hardcore and crossover thrash, powered by the now-classic track "Alcohol" — subsequently covered by METALLICA, DROPKICK MURPHYS, and THE MEATMEN. The album's blistering blend of speed, humour, aggression, and reckless energy has influenced generations of punk, metal, and skate culture worldwide.

The return is a personal triumph for founder Chris Doherty, who suffered a paralyzing stroke in 2017 and was told he would never walk again. He has since battled back through relentless rehabilitation and a hard-won fight for sobriety.

"Since the stroke, getting back on stage is really all I have thought about," Doherty said. "This time, we assembled one of the best lineups GANG GREEN has ever had... so fucking heavy. So fucking fast. Funny being the weak link in my own band, but that's fucking punk rock."

The lineup features Doherty on vocals, guitarist Chris Donelly, drummer Christian "Opus" Lawrence (CRO-MAGS), bassist Mike Modeste (DEAD BY WEDNESDAY), and guitarist Kai Stone.

Show dates:

  • July 30 — Hamden, CT — Space Ballroom
  • July 31 — Boston, MA — Brighton Music Hall
  • August 1 — Portland, ME — Geno's Rock Club
  • August 2 — Albany, NY — Empire Live

Doherty is also completing "Boston Sober", a comprehensive oral history of GANG GREEN and the Boston hardcore underground, due early 2027.
